Honoring Those Who Serve

If you know someone who has been in the military, then you know of the sacrifices that person has made for the country. You can honor that person with a special token of appreciation from a company like PlaquesandPatches.com.

There are several plaques to choose from as well as patches and other mementos that can be personalized. When you get a plaque, you can include the name and years of service as well as the rank.

Some of the plaques can be placed on a desk, and there are others that hang on the wall. You can get small patches to sew on a jacket. Display cases are a way to keep pins and other small items safe.

You can find something for any division of the military including the army, navy and marines. Most plaques are made of wood so that they have a brilliant shine while they are sitting on a shelf.

Tail flashers are a different way to show appreciation to those who are in the military. A company like this gives you a way to honor a large group of people who might attend church together or a group that goes to an American Legion together.

Kansas Fans Find A New Way To Show Their Spirit

The Kansas Jayhawks have one of the most loyal fanbases in the country. That makes sense, too, with all the success that the Kansas basketball program has had over the last century. With repeated runs to the Final Four and an almost constant presence at the top of the Big XII standings, Kansas has given its supporters a reason to feel pride. Now, those supporters have a way to get a wide range of gear.

Sites like JayhawkSpirit.com allow Kansas fans to get more than just run of the mill apparel. It is a site that’s trying to change the game for college sports gear. Not only can fans find their favorite items, but hey can also find recent gear commemorating championships. They can purchase little items for around the house. They can even buy KU-themed Christmas gifts.

Those sites cater to men and women alike, and it has options for people of all sizes. From the guy who loves to play a round of golf in his favorite Kansas golf shirt to the woman who wants a Kansas-themed dress, the site has options to make all kU fans happy.

Often, college sports fans are judged by just how great their tailgate setup looks. They’re judged by how much school pride they’re able to plaster to the outside of their car or their house. New sites give fans the ability to stand out above the crowd, with flags, tailgate insignia, and much more for the person who can’t wait to get back to Allen Fieldhouse.

Get Outdoors – Live A No Barriers Life!

Who says when one has a disability, they cannot overcome obstacles like, say, exploring the world. Meet Erik Weihenmayer.

Erik is the only blind adventurer to climb to the seven highest summits in the world. His latest expedition? To kayak the Grand Canyon’s Colorado River!

He and fellow blind adventurer, Lonnie Bedwell, will be the first blind adventurers to attempt this enormous feat.

This expedition serves to inspire people to not limit themselves, eliminate barriers in their lives and live life to its fullest. Nature Valley is joining Erik Weihenmayer in inviting people to pledge to get out there and live a No Barriers Life.

After all, life is short. Live life to the fullest and make the most while you are still breathing, right?

People love adventure. Who doesn’t? I love hiking on mountain trails and rock climbing. They can look intimidating at first but once you are there and with help from your group of friends, anybody can reach the end of their destination and break the barrier.

When going on adventure trips, always bring along your friends with you. I find it boring doing it alone. Plus, the more the merrier right? And it is also more fun!

Check out these 2 videos to see Erik’s journey to his adventures.

They find inspiration from the beauty of nature and the way people connect with nature – whether that is from a fearless adventure like those undertaken by Weihenmayer or an everyday hike.

Experiencing nature enables people to feel most alive and Erik’s journey is a great demonstration that anybody can break barriers if they believe in themselves.
